Rooted in respect
Tao Ritual Supply Co. draws from Chinese medicine, Taoist philosophy, tea culture, and the practice of intentional living. We approach these as living traditions—not as decoration, trend, or borrowed atmosphere.
Our responsibility is to share what we offer with care: naming origins when they are known, explaining practices without turning them into clichés, and acknowledging the people and traditions that make this work possible.
Specificity over symbolism
Words and symbols carry histories. We do not use cultural imagery simply because it looks beautiful or feels spiritual.
Instead, we aim to offer clear context. When we introduce a Taoist concept, tea practice, herbal formula, or ritual object, we want to explain what it is, where it comes from, and how it may be approached respectfully.
We will not present ourselves as inventing, improving, or owning the traditions from which we learn.
Formulated with experience
Our herbal products are formulated by Dr. LeTa Jussila, DAOM, NMF, a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and licensed herbalist with more than 20 years of experience in Chinese medicine, functional diagnostics, and herbal formulation.
Her clinical background provides the foundation for how our herbal offerings are developed and described. We favor clarity and responsible education over exaggerated promises, wellness trends, or language that suggests one product can replace individualized care.
Origins matter
Tea and ritual objects hold the stories of particular places, materials, makers, and methods. As our collection grows, we are committed to sharing those stories with increasing depth.
Where information is available, we will identify relevant details such as a tea’s place of origin, harvest, processing, and storage, or the maker and materials behind an object. When those details are not yet available, we will not invent a story to fill the space.
Transparency is an ongoing practice. We would rather be honest about what we are still learning than offer a polished but incomplete account.
Thoughtful relationships
Our long-term intention is to build direct, respectful relationships with the farmers, producers, herbalists, artists, ceramicists, teachers, and makers represented in the shop.
We value craftsmanship, fair exchange, responsible sourcing, and reciprocity. As these relationships develop, we will continue sharing more about the people and processes behind each offering.
Less, chosen carefully
We believe quality matters more than quantity. Our collection is intentionally small and will grow slowly.
Each product should have a clear purpose, a meaningful relationship to everyday practice, and a reason to be here. We are not interested in filling shelves for the sake of appearing abundant.
A living commitment
Our approach will continue to evolve as we learn, form new relationships, and deepen existing ones. We welcome thoughtful questions and respectful feedback.
